Overall Danang is a quite modern city, with neatly set up streets in a mostly rectangular grid pattern. Most buildings are modern and there are many, many skyscrapers. There is no clearly identifiable old historic core. The Danang international airport is located right behind the city, only a couple of km to the west of the Han river. It is the main gateway to access central Vietnam. The airport received 5 million passengers in 2014 and is expected to serve 10 million passengers in 2020. The airport is modern, clean and functional.
