The Podil area lies north of the Maidan square. It is one of the oldest neighborhoods of Kiev and is the part of the city which was not destroyed in the Mongol invasion of 1240. The pictures shown below were taken on a hill overlooking the Dnepr river, around the the St Andrew church. Podil is quite and reminds a bit of the Montmartre area of Paris.
