Taif is a city located in the western part of Saudi Arabia, about 70 km east of the city of Mecca. It is situated the Hijaz Mountains at an elevation of 1879 meters above sea level, which gives it a relatively cool climate compared to other cities in Saudi Arabia. Taif has been called the unofficial summer capital of Saudi Arabia and is the center of an agricultural area known for its cultivation of grapes, pomegranate, figs, roses and honey.
