The Rossio Railway Station lies on the northwest side of the Rossio square in central Lisbon. It was designed between 1886 and 1887 by Portuguese architect Jose Luis Monteiro. Trains access the station through a 2600m long tunnel, completed in 1890. The station was the main passenger terminal until 1957.
