Cebu is a large island in the Visayas region in the centre of the Philippines. With 2.6 million inhabitants on 5000 km² Cebu is the most densely populated island of the Philippines. It has also a well developed economic base and is a centre for the ICT industry. The island is not too impressive from a tourist perspective, but is a good base from which to explore the area and travel to nearby islands.
