Tinerhir (or Tinghir) is a small city of 42000 inhabitants in the Draa valley, south of the Atlas mountain range. It is at the centre of a large palm oasis and is the access point to the nearby Todra gorge. The city itself is only moderately interesting and lacks landmarks or other structures of interest, but can be used as a place where to break the journey and rest a bit. A number of hotels are located between Tinerhir and the Todra gorge.
