The Andalus quarter is a large section in the southern part of the Fes el Bali medina. Its name derives from the thousands of Arab families who fled from the Andalusia region of Spain and settled here in the 9th century. The Dar Adiyel house belonged to the Adiyel family, whose members were wealthy traders during the 18th century.
