The Pinnacles trail between Camp 5 and the Pinnacles viewpoint at 1200m altitude is just 2.4km long, but very steep and tough. The terrain is very difficult and consists mostly of tree roots and sharp rocks. The trail proceeds in certain spots almost vertically. In the upper part metal ladders are used to cover certain sections. When it rains the trail gets very slippery. An additional problem is the tropical heat, which makes it necessary to start the trail very early in the morning.
