Road to Tabin reserve

To reach the Tabin wildlife reserve, from Lahad Datu it's a one and a half hour drive on a paved road along the coast, followed by a gravel and mud road which passes through a number of palm oil plantations before reaching the resort. A 4WD car is necessary, since the road conditions are quite rough. While driving to the Tabin reserve it is necessary to pass one checkpoint belonging to a palm oil plantation.
