Shopping malls

Typical for every Malaysian city, Kota Kinabalu also has a number of air-conditioned shopping malls. Most are smaller and less impressive than malls in Kuala Lumpur, except for Suria Sabah which is very big and flashy. Suria Sabah was officially opened in January 2012 and was still half empty at the time of visiting. It features a cinema complex on the highest floor.
