Chennai

Chennai is a large city of 7 million inhabitants, the capital of the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It lies along the coast of the bay of Bengal. In colonial times it was called Madras. Chennai is a modern city with a rich history, having been settled since prehistoric times and having been an important city of the British Indian empire. It's a major business and manufacturing centre and has an international airport.
