The Königsstuhl (literally "King's chair") is a white chalk cliff on the Stubbenkammer coast, in the Jasmund national park on the northern coast of the island of Rügen. The cliff consists of white chalk and is 118m high. The Jasmund national park is located on the Jasmund peninsula in the northeast of Rügen and contains extensive beech forests with many swamp-like ponds. The park was set up in 1990. The beech forest in it became a UNESCO world heritage site in 2011, as an extension to the "Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and the Ancient Beech Forests of Germany".
