The gardens

The gardens of the castle of Villandry were first set up together with the castle in the 16th century. In the 19th century they were rearranged into an English-style park around the castle. In the early 20th century they were restaurated by Joachim Carvallo-Adelmani. The gardens extend over three levels, with the water gardens on the highest level, the love and music gardens one level lower and the vegetable garden on the lowest level.
