There is a car ferry service between the city of Travemünde in northern Germany and Helsinki in southern Finland. This is operated by Finnlines and runs daily. Ferries leave Travemünde around 3am and reach the Vuosaari harbour near Helsinki 29 hours later at 9am. From Helsinki the ferries leave at 5pm and reach Travemünde at 9:30pm the next day. The ferry has cabins with and without windows and an on-board restaurant and cafe. Besides tourists with cars the ferry also carries many trucks.
