Anhui is a province in central eastern China lying between Wuhan, Nanjing and Hanhzhou and extending 600km from north to south and 400km from east to west. Its population is 60 million people, of which the Han constitute 99%. Anhui is most flat in its northern part and mountainous in its extreme south. Anhui's attractions are mainly the Huangshan mountain range and the ancient villages of Huizhou with their characteristic architecture.
