Dubai Creek photo gallery - 28 high quality pictures, stock photos, fine art prints
The Dubai creek is a sound of the Arabian gulf, 14Km long and up to 900m wide, which divides Dubai into two parts - Deira Dubai and Bur Dubai. It now has eight wharfages each capable of receiving 31 ships with a capacity of up to 800 tonnes. The creek has always been used as a safe harbour and has played a major role in the economic development of Dubai. Initially only small ships could enter the creek, but with the completion of dredging operations at the end of the 1950s larger ships with a capacity of 500 tonnes were able to enter the creek.

Nowadays the creek is a scenic area with modern buildings, hotels, restaurants and shopping malls. To cross the creek you can use a water taxi, also known as 'abra'.
