Wat Arun is a Buddhist temple in the Yai district of Bangkok on the west bank of the Chao Phraya river. The outstanding feature of Wat Arun is its central prang (a prang is a Khmer-style tower). The temple was built in 18th century and originally known as Wat Makok (meaining "olive temple").
