The Generalife was the summer palace and country estate of the Nasrid kings. It was built during the 14th century, to the northwest of the Alhambra. The Generalife can be accessed with the same ticket needed for the Alhambra. The palaces in the Generalife compound are not that impressive if compared to those of the Alhambra, but the Generalife gardens are gorgeous and carefully maintained.
