Along the Tagus river

There is a pleasant waterfront along the Tagus river, in the Belem district 6km to the west of central Lisbon. The Padrao dos Descobrimentos is a 52m high monument erected in 1960 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the death of Henry the Navigator. In this area there are also some museums and a small harbour.
