A selection of pictures of the Ayeyarwady river, the main river in Myanmar which crosses the country from north to south. The Ayeyarwady river photos were taken in Mandalay and Bagan.
The river can be navigated from its mouth all the way up to Bhamo and in the rainy season up to Myitkyina - some 1500 km. In Bagan you can charter a boat which will bring you to a beach on the opposite side of the river.
