The Siq (Arabic: al-Siq) is the main entrance to the city of Petra. It's a dim, narrow gorge, with walls 100-200m high, about 1200m long. The Siq was formed when tectonic forces split the mountain into two. Over time the Wadi Musa waters then smoothened the walls of the Siq. In the last part of the Siq the walls have a pink-orange colour.
