Sanjusangen-do is a Buddhist temple in Kyoto. The temple name literally means Hall with thirty three spaces between columns, describing the architecture of the long main hall of the temple. The temple was originally completed in 1164. Its hall contains 1001 almost identical statues of the goddess Kannon. Sanjusangen-do contains beautiful vermilion colour structures.
