These are some photos taken during a car trip around Mashhad. In Shardiz there is a good restaurant with platforms with Persian carpets, serving excellent kebab food. Photos 05-15 are about a shrine in the city of Golestan, probably dedicated to a holy personality of the Shia community. The walls of the main prayer hall are lavishly decorated with cut mirrors. The Haruniyeh mausoleum lies in Tus not far from the tomb of Ferdowsi. It is a brick structure consisting of a square double-domed chamber accessible through a vaulted iwan facing south.
