Munich is the capital of the German state of Bavaria and the city where I live. It is a cosmopolitan city, and wíth just 1.3 million inhabitants not too large. There are very few skyscrapers in Munich, none in the city centre which is dominated by the silhouette of the Frauenkirche church. Munich is a pleasant and clean town, with a good infrstructure and many historic buildings and museums. It is the headquarter of several high tech firms and of BMW. Munich has a history spawning across 900 years, having been granted city status in 1175. Once a year the Oktoberfest beer festival takes place in Munich.
