The hotel de ville (French for city hall), located to the north of the Ile de la Cite in central Paris is the building housing the administration of the city of Paris. Construction of the current building started in 1533 based on a design by an Italian and French architect and was completed in 1628. After having been destroyed by a fire in 1871 the hotel de ville was reconstructed between 1873 and 1892.
