Shenzhen airport, a relatively new airport, is located 35km from downtown Shenzhen and has flights with many cities in China, as well as some international destinations. It is normally cheaper for people based in Hong Kong to fly to mainland Chinese destinations from Shenzhen than from Hong Kong. There is a fast ferry connection to Hong Kong in nearby Shekou.
