Hutongs are neighbourhoods with narrow alleys and old Chinese style houses (socalled
siheyuan, traditional courtyard residences). In Beijing hutongs can be found for instance to the north of the Forbidden city. Many hutong areas have been destroyed to make place for modern buildings. Go (weiqi in Chinese) is a strategic board game for two people, played on a 19 × 19 grid board. Go originated in China, where it has been played for at least four thousand years.
