Hyde park, named after the original Hyde Park in London, is a large park in Sydney on the eastern side of the central business district. It is almost rectangular in shape and extends from north to south. Inside the park are the Anzac war memorial and the Archibald Fountain, designed by François Sicard and donated by J.F. Archibald in 1932 in honour of Australia's contribution to the Great War in France. Around the park are St Mary cathedral and the Art gallery of New South Wales.
